After earning his DPM, Dr. Pilling performed an extensive three-year residency at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. During his residency period, he also had the opportunity to train in pediatric and development conditions at the National Children’s Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Pilling was part the Baja Project for Crippled Children and provided free medical care for needy Honduran children. His pediatric training includes the Ponseti method of treatment for clubfoot.
Dr. Pilling was granted the prestigious honor of a fellowship at the internationally renowned Ilizarov Scientific Center for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Kurgan, Russia. One of only two residents from the USA, he was trained in advanced techniques of repairing bone injuries and complex deformities of the lower extremity and foot.
